HELIO SolarSoft Updates

The IDL code used to access HELIO code was loaded into the SolarSoft tree on 15 April 2011.

The Crib Sheet showing how to use the code is included in the distribution and can also be found here

Update: 16 April 2011

The widget to access the ICS from the hio_setup object is now more or less complete; it should have a functionality similar to that of the Web-based ICS GUI. In addition, the return from the widget is filtered so that only instruments that are also present in the Provider Access Table (PAT) of the DPAS are returned.

Updates following CDAW-1

Following the HELIO CDAW-1 the ICS GUI and related documentation have been updated. The SolarSoft IDL code that can be used to access HELIO has also been released.

The ordering of the text and check boxes on the page has been switched and notes have been included in the help text indicating that the check boxes act as constraints on the selection – all instruments are selected if none are checked – and the ICS show all instruments that could be included in HELIO.

The SolarSoft IDL code can be used to identify interesting events, select instruments of interest, retrieve the list of URLs to files that meet the crireia and the optionally retrieve the files.

DublinBus operates from/to the airport with a direct service (buses 747 or 748 for ~6 euros per way) or a few normal city service (considerably slower but cheaper: 2.30 euros).

TCD is within a 10 min walk of both company's city centre bus stops.

Breakout sessions will be help in the FitzGerald Library and the in the SNIAM Building, which is connected to the FitzGerland Building by a walkway.

If your institution supports eduroam, you can log into the TCD wireless network using this service.

For those who do not have eduroam, we will provide wireless accounts that can be used throughout campus. There will also be 2 iMacs with guest user access.

Refactoring of the Heliophysics Event Catalogue

In preparation of the CDAW-1, the Heliophysics Event Catalogue has undergone a major refactoring.

In particular, a new GUI has been developed to make easier and more intuitive the use of the service, and a significant re-arrangement of the naming of the tables and the fields of the tables has been carried out, following a series of discussions on the metadata features.

The new GUI can be accessed here .

The scheme of the refactored tables and field names is available here .

Please notice that minor tweakings are in progress, and the relevant information is being dynamically updated.
